We have many incredible success stories from all over Alaska.

The Iditarod Area School District has been offering distance education opportunities since 1976. We have educated students living all over rural Alaska, and we launched a state-wide program in 1998. Our mission is to create a dynamic educational environment that fosters excellence.

Parent Responsibilities

Each Student Has Great Potential, So We Expect High Achievement

Our Alaska home school program is designed to meet all state and district requirements. A key part of this is evidence of student learning. Parents need to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Keep a record of all student work, including tests, projects, reading, and logs, to show evidence of student work in progress. This should be presented in a binder or file.
Contact your assigned teacher on a monthly basis to discuss student progress by phone, email, or written correspondence, and attend all parent-teacher conferences.
Review ongoing assessments and ensure District Quarterly Assessments are completed.
